Marylynn and I went down to Swanzy to meet Bridget for her birthday. We stopped in this place for beer and a birthday snack. Good beer very eclectic. Some are quite high in alcohol content.

Bridget gave me this cool coupon book for Christmas. I have finnelly had a chance to start using it.

I met Bridget here for lunch and a few beers. We own several prints by Sarah Fenerty the artist that does the can label art.

Tim gave me a stuffed pancake maker and a selection of flavored maple syrup for Christmas. The Bourbon Barrel went really well with the blueberries that I stuffed this flapjack with. The stuffed pancakes are big enough for two. I think I am stuffing the next one with apples. I hope you are hungry Marylynn.
We made a wonderful pork chop, sauerkraut with potatoes meal. I needed a beer to pair with it. I choose a traditional German Double Bock. “Paulaner Salvator”. It went perfect with the meal. Very little hops in this beer which worked out great. I almost severed a nice “Riesling” wine with this and it would have went nicely with this meal, but I’m a beer guy.
I needed a beer to go with some homemade Chili. Choose “Hop Back” an nice amber ale from Tröegs Brewing Company. This beer has become my favorite. Not too hoppy but just enough to pair nicely with some spicy food. As for the Chili I used a slow cooker recipe. I used sirloin tips instead of chopped meat. It was great big chunks of beef that melted in your month.
Well it is to cold for me to fish, but I can still eat and drink.
I had a really nice porter with my corned beef dinner tonight.
“Dead Reckoning Porter” from TrÖegs Brewing Co Hershey PA. This beer Is dark brown with a nice full head.
A taste of coffee with a little bit of a hoppy finish. Give it a try.
