This is what I should be doing now!
This is the proper time for pumpkin beer.
I love pumpkin beer. Not all pumpkin beer but a good bit of what’s on the market today. However, I have a strong opinion about when it should be enjoyed. That time is when there is a little bite in the air. That means the end of September and October. When you need to put a flannel on when you sit on the pouch watching the sun go down. I hate that the distributors push sales earlier and earlier in the year in their constant fight for shelf space.
So after a little leaf peeping here is a toast the the proper time.
Pittsburg NH
Marylynn and I rented a nice little cabin from Lopstick Lodge right on Perry Stream. Really too early to do much fishing water’s really high and maybe just reached 40°. The Connecticut Lakes are all still frozen. I may drag a few streamers through some ponds that are on the property.
Finally some snow
It has been a weird winter. Pretty much no snow. Well, Mother Nature appears to be trying to catch up. Six inches at dawn and still coming down. Suppose to snow all day and again Sunday into Monday.
Maple Syrup Christmas
Tim gave me a stuffed pancake maker and a selection of flavored maple syrup for Christmas. The Bourbon Barrel went really well with the blueberries that I stuffed this flapjack with. The stuffed pancakes are big enough for two. I think I am stuffing the next one with apples. I hope you are hungry Marylynn.

Merry Christmas all. We are down in New Jersey on a whirlwind holiday visit.

We are ready!
Bridget and I moved some wood up to the deck for easy reach out of the slider. We should all be toasty throughout the storm. With the new stove, this is about a week and a half worth of wood running 24/7. Maybe more we will see.
