I guess this is the kick-off to winter. It snowed on Tuesday Night into Wednesday we got 3 inches or so overnight. Unlike New Jersey, it will not be gone by tomorrow. I never got the opportunity to check out Beaver Pond with my float tube, but am looking forward to ice fishing.
Well, I have left the wonderful Omni Mount Washington Hotel. I will miss the grand old hotel and the people I worked with. My work /life balance was way off. Working 45 hours a week does not leave much time for much else. I commuted every day through Crawford Notch. A beautiful drive, but that tacked 40 minutes on my work day on both sides of my workday. That was on a clear day, add in snow and it has taken me two hours to get home.
I start my new job on August 29th. 1.1 miles door to door. Hopefully Marylynn and I will have more time to do the things we move to New Hampshire to do. Fingers crossed.
I find it amazing how different the Fisheries are here in New Hampshire compared to New Jersey. My buddies down in New Jersey have been posting tons of fish porn for about the last month and a half.
Things are just popping off here now as if someone flipped a switch. I hooked this beautiful brookie on about my second cast.
The original plan when we moved to New Hampshire was for me to become an outdoor / fishing guide. Well of course like everything else this year covid has got in the way.
A friend of mine and former coworker from my days at the Millburn Police Department offered me a job in the loss prevention department of the Omni Mount Washington Resort. I start today.
The real estate market here in New Hampshire is crazy. So we found this nice rental will stay here for a while.
The new adventure begins. We have moved to New Hampshire. This has been our plan for quite a while, but COVID accelerated the plan. When more and more of our summer vacation plans or canceled by travel restrictions and such, we decided to cancel. We called the real estate agent to give us an idea of what we needed to do to sell our house in New Jersey. Probably 6 to 12 months earlier than we had originally planned. Lo and behold our house sold in 36 hours.
Now to find a place to live in a dream location. The White Mountains of New Hampshire. With what began as a panic search for a new home or rental. Luck had it that we found a great place to rent for now, in Intervale New Hampshire.
As of September 25th 2020 Marylynn and I have bailed out of New Jersey. We have relocated to the beautiful White Mountains of New Hampshire.
